Application Process

If you are interested in any of the positions currently advertised and would like to proceed with your application, please be aware of our recruitment and selection process outlined below.

1. Applications Submitted

When you apply for a role, you must ensure the following documentation is included with your application:

  • Cover Letter: Your cover letter should clearly indicate the position you are applying for, provide an outline of your qualifications and experience and address all areas of the selection criteria as outlined in the job description.
  • Resume: A current, brief resume including your contact details; work history; education, training and qualifications.  You should also include the contact details of at least two professional referees.
  • Original Certificates: Please DO NOT send any original certificates, transcripts or references with your original application.

2. Short List

At the conclusion of the application period a selection committee will meet to select a short list of applicants, based on the selection criteria, to attend an interview.

3. Interviews

Interviews for all Koorana positions are undertaken at Koorana’s offices in Belmore or Campsie. The interview panel generally comprises two or more people, including the manager responsible for the advertised position.

4. Reference check

Koorana undertakes reference check for all successful applicants.  A professional referee should be someone with whom you have worked closely or a previous supervisor/manager.

5. Pre employment checks

Koorana is committed to child safety and empowerment. Koorana has zero tolerance to child abuse and take seriously any concerns about child safety. We have a robust framework to ensure child safety. Koorana seeks to ensure that its employees are skilled people to work with children. All people who are engaged in child-related work and who are not exempt, including volunteers, are required to hold a Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Check and must provide evidence of these checks.

6. Offer of employment

The successful applicant will be notified verbally prior to a formal written offer of employment being sent.

7. Unsuccessful applicants

Unsuccessful applicants who have attended an interview will be notified by email.
