Early Education Parenting Workshop
Koorana are offering a free Start Strong Pathways program for parents on the benefits of early childhood education for development.
The workshops are facilitated by a Specialist Teacher and a Family Support Worker Each session includes guest speakers from a range of child and family services.

Welcome and an introduction to children's development [Session by child and family nurse]
SESSION 2: Wednesday 30 October
Understanding your child’s needs, emotions and behaviour [Session by Tresillian nurse]
SESSION 3: Wednesday 6 November
Brain development and the importance of playing with your child in their first 1,000 days of life [Session by music therapist]
SESSION 4: Wednesday 13 November
Normal language development for children aged 0-5 years [Session by Speech Pathologist]
SESSION 5: Wednesday 20 November
Expected abilities for children aged 0-5 years [Session by Occupational Therapist]
SESSION 6: Wednesday 27 November
Benefits of attending preschool and/or child care before going to school. Barriers in accessing early childhood education [Session by specialist teacher and Family Support Worker]

The 8 week program runs at Lakemba School Community Centre (Within Lakemba Public School, Alice Street South, Lakemba) from 10AM - 12PM each week.
Morning tea is provided. Interpreters and child minding is available.
