Pathologist
Koorana Child and Family Services provides Early Childhood
Intervention Services to children and families in Sydneys Canterbury
and Bankstown LGAS.
An enthusiastic and motivated Speech Pathologist is required to work
Full Time or Part time within a multi/transdisciplinary team offering
intervention and support within a variety of service delivery models, including;
individual consultation, individual and group intervention, staff, family,
community consultation and training, and resourcing families and centres.
The position has a specific focus on supporting children with additional
needs and their families. There are further opportunities to work with typically
developing children presenting with specific communication needs within
Kooranas inclusive preschools. This role may also include a team leader
component.
Essential Criteria:
- A degree in Speech
Pathology
- Current membership
of Speech Pathology Australia
- Ability to use
a range of treatment models
- Demonstrated commitment
to flexible family centred practice and some experience in working with
children and families with additional needs.
- Exceptional interpersonal,
oral and written communication skills
- A current NSW unrestricted
drivers license and use of own comprehensively insured car
Desirable:
- Experience in working
within a culturally diverse community
- Experience in
the field of Early Childhood Intervention
- Knowledge of and
experience in collaborative consultation
- Experience working
within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge and experience
in the use of augmentative communication systems.
The

FAMILY
WORKER
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person
to join our Supported Playgroups team. We have 10 playgroups operating
across the Bankstown and Canterbury LGAs, each in different service locations.
The playgroups program supports families with children under school age
who may be experiencing a vulnerable time in their life through isolation
or other challenges.
The position is for 4 days a week, 6 hours a day and there is some flexibility
around school holiday periods. Above award conditions with generous salary
packaging.

in working with families with young children
- have experience

- confidently work
in a collaborative context
- be able to successfully
network, resource families and make appropriate referralsr

Intervention Services to children and families in Sydneys Canterbury

Time or Part time within a multidisciplinary team offering intervention
and support within a variety of service delivery models.
The position will work across a combination of centre based and home based
services with a particular focus on programs for young children with Autism.

Childhood Special Educator is that of a skilled professional who will
provide flexible educational services within a multidisciplinary team
that considers the whole child within the context of their family.
- Bachelor /Diploma
of Teaching /Education
- Experience in Early
Childhood settings

Early
Childhood Educator Play Bus Coordinator (3 days a week)
Koorana Child and
Family Services provide Early Childhood Intervention Services to children
and families in Canterbury and Bankstown. The Canterbury Park and Play
Bus is a project of the Canterbury Child and Family Interagency (CCFI)
under the auspice of Koorana.
The Canterbury Park and Play Bus provides play activities for young children
and their families. Community Information for families is also available.
The Play Bus service will operate in 3 locations in the Canterbury area
in parks during 2009.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator
to coordinate and run this program. The position is for 3 days per week,
6 hours per day.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Run 3 playgroups
in parks in separate locations in the Canterbury area
- Provide play opportunities
for children 0-6 years
- Provide a forum
to model positive interactions with children
- Provide accessible
and appropriate parenting information
- Work and support
families from a culturally diverse community
- Report to the manager
regarding playgroup activities
Essential
