Early Connections

Early Connections is a new short term program that is being offered to families living in the Bankstown area, who have a child under school age. This program is for parents who are concerned about their child’s development or the child may have been recently diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability and are waiting to receive early intervention services.

The program has been funded by Bankstown City Council for a 10 week period and is being co-ordinated by Koorana Child and Family Centre. It will commence on Monday 4th May to 6th July 2009 from 10am to 12pm. It will take place at Revesby Uniting Church Hall, 219 The River Rd, Revesby

The program will be playgroup style with time for parents to participate in group discussions about children’s development with a range of professionals such as Occupational therapists, family workers & early childhood teachers presenting. The aim of the project is to.

  • assist families in building supportive social connections
  • increase parental understanding of issues relating to their child’s learning & development
  • resource families on how they can assist their child’s learning at home
  • resource families on intervention options and accessing them


There is no cost and child care will be provided for the children & siblings during the session so parents can join in the discussions
Morning Tea will be provided for the children & parents
